My Step 1 exam was very close to NBME form 1 and 2 but slightly tougher. NBME form 2 (taken 4 months before the exam)-570 NBME form 1 (taken 1 month before the exam)- 680 Kaplan Q bank-average 80% Kaplan Q book-average 78% USMLE CD-44, 45, 42 Most of questions were from first aid (I used 2002 edition). Lot of clinical stuff. I was surprised to see step 2 material asked in step 1. Majority of exam was patho, pharmac, physio. About 3-4 epidemiology(&/ or biostats) in each block. Biochemistry was very straightforward. Some wierd molecular biology but only 5-6 questions in th entire exam. I did not waste time trying to solve it. Marked my favorite letter and moved on. I am an old graduate(1997) and had to work very hard to revise basic sciences. Studied for 4 months-full time 10 hours a day. I hope this would serve as a source of encouragement to others especially old graduates like me. As Winston Churchill said " Never, Never, Never, Never give up" Cheers.
